What can you make by cutting a table in half? Some really cool stuff! Talk about an understatement. The idea of using half a table isn’t anything new. Demilunes were developed in France and gained in popularity around 1750. Demilune refers to the top of a piece of furniture, such as a small table, which is shaped like a semi-circle or half-moon. Basically, half a table. They’re great for small spaces. Today’s DIYers have taken the concept a giant step further by cutting full sized furniture in half and repurposing the pieces. One of the things I love most about this idea is the fact that you end up with two pieces. If you don’t want matching side tables, this gives you an opportunity for another great project. Or you could even share the second piece with a friend, so that they can do something unique with it. For your inspiration, I found some fabulous projects to share with you today.
