Affordable Home Decor: 24 Places to Shop

Affordable Home Decor. I’m always looking for good deals on furniture and home decor. I don’t know if you’re the same way, but I get such a thrill out of finding something fabulous on sale for a ridiculously low price. One of the questions I’m asked the most often is “Where do you shop?” I have so much fun finding treasures at local thrift stores and garage sales that I can rework or makeover. I’ve even scored some great items on Craigslist. But I probably do most of my shopping at online and retail stores.

Affordable Home Decor: 24 Places to ShopIf you’re looking to update your home without spending a fortune, I’ve put together a list of 24 places you can shop for affordable home decor.  I’m not endorsing any of these companies, being paid to promote them or getting free products from them. I’ve bought things from most of them either online or in their brick and mortar stores. The ones I haven’t shopped at have been recommended to me by other decorators and clients. With the exception of HomeGoods, you can purchase things online from the store websites. HomeGoods is one of my favorite places to shop, so I had to include it on the list even if you can’t shop online with them.  And they’re not listed in order of preference, but in reverse alphabetical order.

There are several other places that I like to shop, too. To name a few Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Horchow, and Ballard Designs. I didn’t include those today, because they’re a little higher priced that the other stores on the list. And this list is all about decorating on a budget. However, at times they do have some great sale prices. So you might want to check them out to see what they have marked down.

If you have any sources for affordable home decor that aren’t on the list, I’d love to hear from you.

Awesome list Peggy! The other day, I went to Pier 1 looking for napkins. My jaw nearly dropped when I saw a sign that said ‘liquidating’ and the store was stripped down to the bare bones! Luckily, they are just remodeling and will be back in action in May. They were selling everything, including fixtures. I ended up buying a wood shelf for $3. I couldn’t walk out empty handed, after all ;). So I sashayed over to HomeGoods and bought the napkins there, but I have to say that’s one area where they fall short. Pier 1 seems to have a nicer selection of things like placemats and napkins. There are about 3 places you mentioned I’m not familiar with, so I may just have to check them out!

Hobby Lobby is also an excellent place to find cheap decor and furniture. If you catch the right week you get 50% off and it is very affordable!

If you haven’t checked out Kirklands, girls you all are missing out on some beautiful decor, furniture, pictures, just about anything you would want to decorate a house with. It’s my favorite along with some you have listed. You can also order online. Their web site is Kirklands.com. Enjoy.

if you really want a bargain shop at Goodwill! Go to the best part of town, many of these locations will have estate sale merchandise and it is often times very upscale furnishings/decor for a fraction of what it is worth.
