Red Room: Decorating with the Color Red. Yesterday I shared the favorite red paint colors of top designers. Today I’d like to follow that up with some fabulous red rooms. No. Not like the kind in 50 Shades of Grey. Sorry if I disappointed you.
These are rooms that have been decorated with the color red.
Red is a bold color choice. Some people want to go all out and cover a room in red. Others, may only want a touch or two. The rooms I’ve chosen have either red walls, furniture, fabric or possibly all three of those. I’ve tried to include different design styles, as well. If you love red or would love to add some red to your decor, here is some inspiration for you.

Do you have red in your home? Which of these red rooms do you like the best?

You have assembled some lovely pictures for us today!! There is something for everyone here! I have never painted a wall or walls red, have only used red accents. I love what you have shown us here, something for even those of us who may be afraid of painting walls red. Love the bedroom with the toile bedcoverings. Also loving that first Martha Stewart picture. Those red plates are lovely and the fireplace screen is just awesome! Love everything about that room!
Thank you for stopping by, Melanie! Always love to hear your comments. Glad you like the photos!
I’m surprising myself here…I really like the red kitchen! I might be a bit timid about doing that because red is such a bold color and cabinets are a huge investment, but I have to say I’m drawn to that look. The one room I wouldn’t put red in would be a bathroom. To me, bathrooms are for relaxing and I’m more attracted to soothing colors like neutrals, sea greens, etc.
I love red, and wish I had gone more in that direction at the cabin instead of green, but I’ve been putting some red accents here and there.
Great inspiration here Peggy!
I say if your heart is telling you yes, then go for it Doreen! You could do some cabinets red and mix it up like in the black, white and red kitchen. There are lots of options. You have such a great design sense, whatever you choose will look fabulous!
I have always wanted a red living room and finally had it painted this week. I have been searching for pictures on the Internet for inspiration on how to decorate the room next. I love your picture from Pottery Barn. I already have a similar sofa, but want to steal the idea for the rug and the black and white pillow.
So happy this post was able to help you, Rebecca! Sounds like the room is going to be amazing!
I LOVE red Peggy! I use it a lot in our house with accessories! great pictures for inspiration!
Thank you for stopping by and commenting, Ingrid. Happy that you like the pictures!
