The bathroom is one of the smallest rooms in the house, but it’s also one of the busiest. Add to that the fact that there are so many different products and items that need to be kept in there. Use baskets and bins to keep like items together. Add labels so each family member knows where to keep their things. There are also a variety of storage systems and slide out organizers you can utilize to keep all the family’s bathroom necessities in order.
Take a look at the space available in your bathroom. Sometimes you can add shelves in the tightest of spots and discover lots of new storage possibilities. When accessorizing your shelves, think outside of the bathroom. Decorative plates and vases are unexpected in a bathroom, but add style and interest. Use candy dishes and compotes to hold small toiletries and bath items.
When you can’t go “out”, go “up”. Vertical storage takes up less floor space, but has plenty of surface area for towels and supplies. For small bathrooms, the space under the sink can offer plenty of storage “real estate”. Even a tiny corner with a small sink can give serve up extra counter space and storage.
A half-wall not only offers privacy, but it’s also a great way to build in additional storage. The space in between the studs can be used to create shallow storage space that is plenty deep enough for bottles of shampoo, conditioner and the like. Even the area in some tub surrounds can be fitted with tilt-out drawers for towel storage. Very handy, too!
