Are you ready for some fun paint projects that will help you to use up all your leftover paint? I was looking through some past issues of HGTV Magazine – which I love, by the way – and found something I thought you would enjoy. At the end of the magazine, there’s a feature called “That’s a Wrap”. In it, each month they ask some of the HGTV designers a design question. The issue I was looking at asked, “You have some leftover paint. Can you come up with a quick makeover?” Five of HGTV‘s favorite designers gave their suggestions for paint projects using leftover paint.
Paint Projects: 5 Ideas for Leftover Paint
1 Take white ceramic vases and dip them in the paint. Don’t worry about taping off a line. An imperfect one makes the vase look more special. ~ Courtney Novogratz, Home by Novogratz
3 Cute up plain bins! Use stencils to label canvas containers, so your kids know where their toys go. ~ Genevieve Gorder, Dear Genevieve
4 Use leftover paint to make a pair of bookends colorful. It’s an easy way to brighten up shelves. ~ Vern Yip, HGTV Star
5 Cover a terra-cotta pot with extra paint. I like white – it immediately makes the pot look cool and modern. Then use a rubber stamp and ink pad to add a fun design over the paint. The ink will stick best if the paint under it is a flat finish. ~ Emily Henderson, Secrets From a Stylist
I have lots of leftover paint in my garage, as well as tons of little sample cans. I’m always looking for creative uses for it. I love these ideas from the HGTV designers. Do you have any you’d like to share? What are some fun ways you’ve used up your leftover paint?
