Paint Projects: 5 Ideas for Leftover Paint

Are you ready for some fun paint projects that will help you to use up all your leftover paint? I was looking through some past issues of HGTV Magazine – which I love, by the way – and found something I thought you would enjoy. At the end of the magazine, there’s a feature called “That’s a Wrap”. In it, each month they ask some of the HGTV designers a design question. The issue I was looking at asked, “You have some leftover paint. Can you come up with a quick makeover?” Five of HGTV‘s favorite designers gave their suggestions for paint projects using leftover paint.

5 Cover a terra-cotta pot with extra paint. I like white – it immediately makes the pot look cool and modern. Then use a rubber stamp and ink pad to add a fun design over the paint. The ink will stick best if the paint under it is a flat finish. ~ Emily Henderson, Secrets From a Stylist

I have lots of leftover paint in my garage, as well as tons of little sample cans. I’m always looking for creative uses for it. I love these ideas from the HGTV designers. Do you have any you’d like to share? What are some fun ways you’ve used up your leftover paint?

That one is my favorite, Laurie! Those pots can be used for so many things besides plants. My daughter painted one for me and I use it on my desk to hold colored pencils. πŸ™‚

Love the vases and the pots! I use cute pots like that in my craft room for brushes, markers, etc., but I bought them already painted.

I’m not a fan of the white dresser with the bold stripe down the middle. I think it detracts from the beauty of the piece in a big way. Maybe a more subtle color would have been more appropriate?

The flower pots are great for organizing items in a craft room or office, Doreen. I haven’t tried the vases yet, but it’s definitely on my crafting to-do list! πŸ™‚
