One of my favorite parts of dining out is getting a taste of different interior design. Restaurants often have some of the most innovative and memorable decor. There aren’t many limits to what they can do, which is why some amazing creativity often springs from these settings. It’s all about creating an immersive experience that patrons will want to relive time and time again. That makes restaurants fantastic places to find inspiration for your own home. You never know what could catch your eye. To inspire you, here are some fabulous restaurant interiors.
Inspiring Restaurant Interiors
1 Here’s a very cool idea for lighting that comes from Seattle restaurant, The Whale Wins. Their lighting literally welcomes their guests in a stylish and unexpected way.
2 Heirloom Restaurant in Vancouver lives up to its name and has no shortage on charm. It captures a perfect balance of retro character and modern simplicity with its clean green and white color scheme. Notice the beautiful herringbone subway tiles on the bar.
3 Dolce & Gabbana’s Gold restaurant in Milan lives up to its fashionable name with a chic and glamorous interior. White leather seats look elegant with the glass tables, flowing chandeliers, and stainless steel shutters.
4 Dishoom‘s Chowpatty Beach in London is another retro delight with a colorful and playful appeal. The different colored chairs are a quirky touch and the adorable mason jar light fixtures hearken back to a simpler time when many things were handmade. Unfortunately, the cafe was a temporary location but the photos still offer tons of inspiration.
5 White-washed brick walls, stunning trees, and candlelight make this Manchester restaurant Australasia both chic and relaxed for an intimate dining experience.
6 Seating takes the focal point in Aqua, a Florida sushi restaurant with an extra high-back booth. This would be easy to recreate on a smaller scale in a dining room or breakfast nook. It was perfectly paired with simple wood tables and lucite chairs so the focal point remained the gorgeous tufted booth.
7 If you want opulence and luxury, the Corinthian Club in Glasgow has it in spades. The architecture is stunning and the decor blends with it seamlessly. Purple booths are a beautifully bold touch of color in an otherwise traditional space.
8 It’s no surprise that this Hong Kong restaurant Duddell’s also serves as an art gallery and place for creative minds to meet with its clean lines and fresh color scheme. I love the clever design of the light fixtures and the pop of yellow against the white and wood.
9 Designer Juan Carretero brought the outdoors in at the Mexico City eatery Country Bistro. The walls themselves make you feel like you’re nestled in a garden with high hedges. A rich palette of purples and neutrals keep this atmosphere casual and chic.
10The interior design in California’s Girasol is artistic and eye-catching. The walls and ceiling act as one large piece of art that engulfs you as you eat. It would be interesting to see what someone could do with something similar on a smaller scale in a residence.
Keep an eye out for inspiring design and decor the next time you’re out to eat.
