DIY Home Decor: 5 Awesome Projects

Are you ready for some awesome DIY home decor projects? I found some great ones to feature by five very talented bloggers. I love DIY projects, especially when they’re something I can accomplish in a day or so. Each of these projects is fairly easy to do and can be completed fairly quickly.  You’ll ready to add style to your home in no time.

1 Dress up a simple white planter with a fun stencil! Jennifer at Tatertots & Jello shows you how easy it is with a new line of stencils that stick to what you’re painting and can be re-positioned and used again. Stenciled Pot Tutorial

2 Here’s another fun, easy and inexpensive (those are the best kind!) idea from Whitney at Shanty 2 Chic. Make a table runner out of regular ol’ carpenter shims. If you can paint and glue, you can have this runner decorating your table. Wood Shim Table Runner Tutorial

3  This is another fun stencil project. Katie at Addicted 2 DIY added a bit of humor to plain white kitchen towels by using a stencil she made and fabric paint. With this technique, you could create your own special design. Painted Kitchen Towels Tutorial

I love these Peggy! I’ve actually done the sisal project, but the runner is awesome. I’m not sure I would buy four quarts of stain though. Smaller cans would do the trick and would cost a lot less…or maybe mixing colors. Sometimes if we are not careful diy’s can cost more than buying an item, especially if you shop at HomeGoods ;).

I love to use up whatever I have left over from other projects. Sometimes all you need is just a bit to do the trick. Thank you for joining in the discussion, Doreen! BTW – I love Homegoods!! :)
