My daughter is decorating her house on a budget, so I’ve been looking for fun projects that I can make for her. The other day my focus was on finding things for her kitchen. There is no shortage of creative ideas out there. Today I’m sharing a few of the awesome kitchen DIY projects that I found. These projects will add style and function without breaking the bank.
Kitchen DIY Projects
1 I’m a stickler for keeping things clean and avoiding cross-contamination when cooking. That’s why I love this idea for keeping track of which cutting board is used for the different types of food. This project is practical and brings a pop of color to the kitchen. Love the typography, too!
2 Clear up space on your counters for working and keep your recipes in full view with a tablet/recipe holder that tucks away when not in use. The cut-out design is beautiful!

3 Here’s a project that serves three purposes: 1) It’s a portable island; 2) It’s a recyling center; and 3) It has extra storage space. Three out of three!
4 Give a plain peninsula a style update by easily adding planks to it and a set of decorative corbels. This project reminds me of the shiplap Joanna Gaines uses on Fixer Upper.
5 This DIY plate rack not only provides an attractive way to store your plates, but you can also store more plates with easier access to them.
6 Using fruit is a popular design “secret” for adding color to a kitchen. This tiered crate is a charming way to display them.
7 Bring a touch of industrial design to your kitchen with an easy-to-make copper pipe paper towel holder.
8 Planning and keeping track of the week’s menus would be fun with this menu chalkboard.
I have an old set of dressers in my garage for which I’ve been waiting for the right project. The recycling center island is looking like it may be a contender for one of them. I’ll keep you posted on that. In the meantime, which of these DIY projects do you think you’d like to try first?
